If you’ve lost access to your MPC wallet, whether that means a missing recovery kit, deleted app, or a broken phone that held your passkey, pause before you reinstall or reset anything.
MPC (Multi-Party Computation) wallets don’t rely on a single set of 12 to 24-word phrases. Instead, your private key is split into secure fragments (sometimes called shares or factors) that live across different places: your device, the cloud, and the wallet provider’s encrypted vault. Delete or overwrite one before checking what recovery factors remain, and you could lose your access path entirely.
Your crypto is still on the blockchain, but without the correct threshold of those fragments, you can’t sign transactions or prove ownership. There’s no universal “restore account” button here either, as each wallet brand has its own recovery method.
If this is you don’t panic, we’ll walk through how to fix this safely:
- How to confirm what recovery factors you still have access to.
- How to test and restore your wallet safely.
- When and how to move your assets to a new device or wallet instance.
Follow the steps carefully, and you’ll finish with a verified recovery path and assets fully intact.
